Request Furniture Pick-Up

Thank you for considering donating to Houses into Homes. Your items will be given to recipients right here in the Iowa City community.

Houses into Homes has a small staff of volunteers. We will respond to your submission as soon as we can, but it may take 1-2 weeks. Thank you!

Please note: we rely on volunteers for furniture pick ups and we are not professional movers. Therefore, we are unable to move any furniture other than items we are picking up.

Please note:

We are no longer accepting headboards and footboards. We still accept bed frames.

We are no longer accepting dressers.

Items we do not take:

Dressers, headboards/footboards, large desks, large entertainment centers, box TVs, flat screen TVs larger than 42”, mirrors, wine glasses, wine racks, vases, king-size mattresses and boxsprings, used pillows, knick knacks, objets d'art, clothes, purses, telephones, toiletries, tall bookshelves, mattress toppers, flannel sheets.

We often communicate via text message. We will be texting from the number 319-435-1075.
Can you receive text messages at this number? *
Do you need a pick up? *
(Small pick ups are free but a $20 cash or check donation is suggested. Large pick ups (more than a few items) have a fee of $50. Both of these help us cover the cost of truck rental, mileage, and gas. You can also arrange to drop off your items at our warehouse.)
Houses into Homes picks up in Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty.
Are all the items gently used or new, free from rips and tears, stains, and odors, and have no missing or broken parts? *
Items in poor shape, stained, or broken will be refused.
Are the items from a smoke-free home? *
(If no, we cannot accept the items.)
I understand that small pick ups are free, but a $20 donation is suggested. Large pick ups have a fee of $50. *
The suggested $20 donation for small pick ups and $50 for large pick ups (more than a few items) help us cover the cost of truck rental, mileage, and gas.)
I understand that Houses into Homes has the right to refuse any item. *
Please note: our priority is to collect and distribute furniture that is practical to use and move. We reserve the right to refuse any items that we deem too heavy, bulky, or fragile.

Houses into Homes may occasionally determine that a donation does not meet our recipients’ most immediate needs, and that consigning items for cash will help us meet those needs better.
