Join us for a Housewarming Fundraiser to celebrate our first year and help us meet our goals! No ticket necessary, just stop by Urban Acres Real Estate at 250 Holiday Road in Coralville on Saturday, January 26th, from 6-9 pm to enjoy some food, drink, and fun, and learn more about Houses into Homes—the work we are doing and our goals for the future. What are our goals? Our number one goal is to be able to provide beds, furniture, and household items to as many recipients in as short a time as we can. We want to make sure that every person who needs a bed has one. We want to divert from the landfill as many beds, couches, tables, chairs, dressers, rugs, sheets, towels, blankets, and more as we can.
To meet those goals, we need storage, transportation, and staff. To help us meet those goals, you can make a financial donation. You can become a Sustaining Donor by making a monthly contribution. $100 every month means you are insuring that one family every month has the beds, furniture, and other items they need to make their house a home. $50 a month would supply a family of four with platforms to support their mattresses (we are often low on boxsprings). $20 every month for a year would give three families the beds they need.
A one-time donation of $1000 covers one month of rent for our warehouse. $100 covers the cost to rent a truck for one delivery/pickup day. $50 covers the cost of gas for one delivery/pick-up day.
Our Housewarming Fundraiser is not ticketed. Free-will donations are encouraged if you find the work we are doing in the Iowa City community important and would like to see us continue and improve. We hope we see you there on Saturday, January 26th!
